Senior Engineering/Technology Program Manager,  2012 -2013
Spearheaded multiple large global engineering projects, from conception and planning through implementation, within Reverse Value Chain Center of Excellence (RVC) in Worldwide Operations. Developed strategies, processes and directed multi-functional, matrixed resources.

  • Achieving on-time, within budget performance, contributing to Lean Six Sigma projects as a Green Belt in training (GBiT).
  • Contributed to generating $20M in RVC savings in FY ‘12.
  • Helped achieve $50K per quarter savings in freight costs and five day reduction in repair lead time

Senior Engineering Program Manager, 2011 – 2012
Project managed and coordinated large multi-million dollar engineering projects within Worldwide Operations (WWOPS).  Managed globally dispersed, multi-functional and cross-cultural project teams via initiating, developing and maintaining Project Teams’ SharePoint website.

Global Repair Supply Chain Manager, 2003 – 2011
Developed and managed the Global Repair Supply Chain. Responsible for cost, quality, delivery and continuous improvement of over 800 repair suppliers around the globe.

  • Released 50+ ISO business processes required for Repair Supply Chain Management, including Supplier Assessment/Approval, Inspections, Statements of Work, Quality Policies/Procedures.
  • Conducted 100+ supplier Kaizen Events and on-site assessments in 11 different countries to qualify global  repair suppliers, evaluated, developed/improved processes and approved repair suppliers.
  • Awarded Q4’06 “Spares Team of The Quarter Award” for contributing 5.2% in realized savings
    towards Spares FY’06 P&L, a record savings of $28M.

Senior Member Technical Staff, 2000 – 2003
Managed special projects in Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization of 360 global suppliers. Program management responsibility for introduction and release of Standard Fasteners and the Certified Supplier Program.

  •  Developed business processes to control, track and report large customer orders resulting in 100% on time shipment to customer commit of $22M+ revenue of critical Intel systems.
  • Developed and released documentation and business processes to implement branding of supplier parts.
  • Reduced part number proliferation by increasing fastener commonality between divisions from 4% to 85%.
  • Developed and ISO released all business process requirements for Certified Supplier Program.
  • Conducted supplier on-site assessments and capacity reviews to improve overall supplier quality and delivery performance by using Shingo Prize as basis for comparison to world-class; resulting in 6 key suppliers in

300mm Program Manager, 1997 – 1999
Managed smooth transition of 300mm products from conception stage (R&D) to production release and adherence to Product Development Process (PDP).  Coordinated and integrated activities between Engineering and Manufacturing. Led manufacturing and engineering organization of 65 full-time and contract personnel with sales of $50M+ and a $4M budget.

  • Directed design and implementation of 22 internal 300mm assembly lines for production of next
    generation, multi-billion dollar product. Utilized Lean Manufacturing processes and methodologies.
  • Reduced material costs 30%+ through Concurrent Engineering activities and conducting Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A) analysis, supplier and engineering design reviews.
  • Recipient of Applied Materials 1998 President’s Gold Award for Reduction of Waste.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager, 1996 – 1997
Established and managed manufacturing engineering resources and document control operations in Common Module Manufacturing & Engineering Division. Drove continuous improvement and Kaizen activities on Lean Mfg. lines. Supported problem identification/resolution. Managed $2.5M budget and 53 full-time personnel.

  • Reduced ECO WIP and backlog 30%+
  • Designed/implemented BOM audit process and sampling plan: reduced BOM related part shortages by 50%+.

Lean Manufacturing Program Manager, 1995 – 1996
Led conversion of Applied Materials’ first division from Batch/Push manufacturing to single piece flow/pull Lean Manufacturing modeled on the Toyota Production system.

  •  Converted 27 internal production lines to Lean (Flow) Manufacturing, eliminating batch building, work orders and manufacturing wait-time waste.
  • Reduced manufacturing costs ~70% by significantly reducing floor space, inventory and labor requirements while improving overall product quality 88%.
  • Improved inventory turns on multi-million dollar assembly lines from 3 to 15+.
  • Developed and deployed Lean Manufacturing training for 2500+ employees and suppliers. Personally presented training to hundreds of AMAT employees and suppliers globally.
